What Coho is
Coho is managed content infrastructure for businesses: a hosted content platform where content and its schema are versioned together. Teams branch, review, merge and release content, promote releases through their environments, and deliver them to websites and apps through a fast read API. You work with Coho through its Authoring and Runtime APIs, the coho command-line tool and the Python management SDK.
Coho is delivered online. Your account is ready as soon as you confirm your email address, and a paid plan starts as soon as you subscribe.
Plans and prices
All prices are in US dollars and don't include taxes. On Site, every allowance is for each project and shared by all of your projects: three projects share 30 GB of delivery, however it falls between them. On Enterprise there is one allowance for your account as a whole, which does not grow with the number of projects.

How usage is measured
- Delivery is counted per response from the Runtime API, at the response's size or 16 KB, whichever is larger.
- Content is the size of your published content as JSON, measured every day. Each day over the allowance is billed at a day's share of the monthly price (12 / 365 of it), so a one-off import costs only the days it stays over.
- History. Every version of your content is kept. Up to five times your content's size is included, and beyond that each day is billed at a day's share of the monthly price per GB.
- Live reads are reads of content that is not yet released: live previews, and project tokens reading branches through the Authoring API. They are counted against the daily allowance across the whole billing period.
- Allowances on Site are for each project, added together and shared; on Enterprise there is one allowance for the account, which does not grow with the number of projects.
- Editors are the members of your account, counted at the most it had on any day of the billing period.
- Limits and alerts. Free limits are fixed: when an account reaches one, the action that would exceed it stops until the limit resets (delivery at the start of the next month, live reads at midnight UTC, releases when content is back under), and you're never charged. On paid plans, we email your admins at 80% and 100% of every allowance. A paying site is never taken down for going over an allowance.
Billing
- Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. Each invoice charges the base fee for the month ahead and the usage beyond your allowances in the month just ended.
- We accept major credit and debit cards, and other payment methods Stripe offers in your country, such as Link. Payment details are entered on Stripe's pages and never reach our servers. Stripe is certified to PCI DSS Level 1, the payment industry's highest security standard.
- Where we are required to, we add sales tax, VAT or GST, based on your billing address. Businesses with a valid VAT ID may be able to account for VAT themselves under the reverse charge.
- Prices belong to a plan version. A price change is a new version, and existing accounts keep theirs. If we ever need to move existing accounts to a new version, we will give at least 30 days' notice, as the Terms of Service describe.
- If a renewal payment fails, Stripe tries it again over the following days, and your account's admins see a notice in the console with a link to pay it. If it is still unpaid 14 days after it was due, changes to the account stop until it is paid: no edits, releases or promotions, no new projects, tokens, delivery keys or invitations, and no change of plan. Reading, live previews, exports and your published site carry on, and you can still pay, and remove people, tokens and keys. Paying lifts the hold straight away.
- You can cancel at any time. The Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how canceling, refunds and failed payments work, including what happens if a payment stays unpaid.
